not at home when her date came to pick her up. Ugh. So I set the camera on self-timer and told her to
take a picture of herself. Lame. I know. Most of the self-portraits turned out blurry, except this one.
Doesn't she look lovely?! We had a good time finding the perfect dress at a 2nd hand store for $19 and
shopping at Macy's for jewelry and shoes. Our time together was extremely limited because of rehearsals
for ANNIE - Ruby's high school play. Lucky for me, I was around to share my make-up bag and make
a few last-minute repairs on her dress - minor alterations.
I volunteered to sew 5 servant dresses for the ANNIE play, which made the alterations easier because
I had all the sewing equipment out and at the ready. I wish I had a photo of me sewing servant dresses.
What a project for someone who hasn't sewn in ages. But that was the plan. I knew if I had to get the
dresses done it would force me to revisit my desire to sew more. It worked. I feel comfortable with my
new sewing machine and I know how to thread it without having to refer to the manual.
