A Study in Ancient History

We have been in the Rabbit House for 6 months now, and I'm still unpacking boxes. I ran across some of my old "work," including my portfolio from college which happens to be moldy now. When I was getting my degree, there were no computers in the Design department. We were taught the work of the old ancients - T-square rulers, amberlyth, and registration marks. My portfolio is clearly outdated, but interesting as a piece of Graphic Design history. Everything is falling apart, but here are a few illustration relics that survived.
Above is our new basement office. Mr. B. did the carpet tiles himself.
The gorgeous men of the 80's.
I found these ladies in The National Geographic. They are either at a wedding ceremony or they are trying to attract a mate. I can't remember which. Anyway, I decided to do a "color study" using Prismacolor pencils on dark, textured Canson paper. At 3:00 a.m. I had finished this piece and my tired college co-ed body was ready to hit the sack, but my color study was too dark. I wanted to see light coming through the umbrella. I ended up painstakingly cutting the umbrella portions out with my trusty ol' X-acto knife, then I pasted scraps of yellow paper into the spaces. With the effect of light I had hoped to achieve, I finished in time to run off to class with no sleep or shower. Oh, the days of yore!
I liked this girl's hair and boots. Those boots are totally 80's.

Back in the day, me and Mr. B. (computer genius) did not even own a computer. I did all my copying, printing, and sizing at Kinko's. Xerox machines were so magical!
Past dream: to have my own line of greeting cards. I filled sketchbooks full of doodles & scribblings of silly puns, sappy stuff, and everything in between. Here are three, prepared at Kinko's, to show to whomever would take a gander at the them.
