Six months ago our family moved from CA to UT. We are still in the adjustment phase, but that's another story. Within the last two years we have been through two major remodels. Just finished the one in CA, sold that house, bought the UT house, and embarked on another remodeling adventure. Back to back remodels! What were we thinking? The photos above are the CA kitchen. I learned a lot from magazines, the contractor, and experimentation. The best part was the Open Canvas Day, which turned into Open Canvas Week. It was a friends & family free-for-all. We had paint everywhere, but it didn't matter. It was all going to be demolished anyway. What a riot! When our contractor arrived with his son, they were so sad. They did not want to demolish the artwork. You can see their sad faces, along with more of the artwork here. Photos in order: Before, During (Open Canvas), and After. What do you think? Would you like to see more Before & After photos?

Oh, that was a little painful. I completely miss the Soquel house!! ahhhhh.
When I was a kid, before my parents painted a room they would let us do pencil drawings all over the walls - I had forgotten about it until I saw this post.

I LOVE that idea, Julie! You are such a creative mom/decorator.
